The project is composed of pictures taken in the early hours of morning, when the portrayed subjects – monks, merchants, farmers – start a new ordinary or unexpected day. Knowing just what was true until the day before, everyone faces a new dawn with the strength of hope or with fear of the future. The work has also a broader scope: besides facing a new day as individuals, these people – all together – face a a new day for their country: Myanmar. Today this nation is proving itself with social and political changes, associated with hopes and fears, in a delicate balance of tradition and progress.
